Using Cisco Umbrella to Protect Your Mobile Workforce and Company Assets

by | Nov 12, 2019 | Managed Services

How do you protect your mobile workforce when they leave the four walls of the office with YOUR assets?

When your assets are in the office, you protect them with a firewall – now you can easily protect them when the leave the office too. Cisco Umbrella is a secure internet gateway and will become your first line of defense against threats, wherever your users may roam.

How does Cisco Umbrella work?

Umbrella is based on the foundation of the internet, Domain Name System (DNS). It analyzes and learns from internet activity patterns, uncovers attackers, and then it proactively blocks access requests to malicious websites before a connection is even established — without adding any latency for users. Umbrella also benefits from the intelligence of the suite of Cisco knowledge, Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP), and Cisco Talos. This provides a winning combination of human intelligence and machine learning to protect your assets from malicious sites, URLs, IPs, and domains. The end result is you will have earlier protection and identification from issues such as phishing and malware.

Does Umbrella play nice with others?

YES! You can integrate Umbrella into your existing suite of security defenses including your on-prem firewalls (regardless of manufacturer) and cloud access security broker (CASB) controls. Additionally, logs can be pushed into your SIEM or log management system to maximize your existing investment.
