“Life moves pretty fast.  If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller

In the quote above, you could change the word “Life” to “Technology” and the saying still applies 100%.  As I mentioned in my previous blog, Meraki is continuously coming out with new features for their hardware.  A new feature came out recently that I had mentioned in my blog as a potential improvement to the line!

New addition to the MV Line – Introducing the MV12

The MV12 comes in three models with varying fields of view and hard drive size.  All of them can record in 1080p, are wireless capable, and are equipped with microphones, which none of the preceding models supported.

Who says wishes never come true?

In my previous blog reviewing the Meraki MV, I mused about having the option of a motion-based alerting system for areas where you would want that type of monitoring.  I even went so far as to submit a wish on the Meraki management portal via the “make a wish” button.  Patience is a virtue, and Meraki came through with the new feature of motion-based alerting.  I was able to test it out and it works great so far.  After I configured the area of notification on my camera and set the time of motion parameter to 2 seconds, I was able to be alerted for movement via email.  The email notification even adds a link to bring you to the Meraki Portal camera view and exact time movement was seen:
