In the dynamic and fast-paced environment of business today, more and more organizations are realizing they need to be agile in order to thrive and, in many cases, even merely survive.  Additionally, the increased complexity of technology and acceleration of information volumes requires a higher level of coordination of activities between people than ever before in order to achieve their goals.  To be agile, employees need to be able to synthesize information, draw conclusions quickly, and take action.

Transparent information systems that contain quality data presented in an easy to consume manner are critical for rapid decision-making. What is key, however, is that this information is both timely and accurate.  Decisions are only as good as the data used to make them, stale or inaccurate information will lead to poor choices.  Additionally, with the sheer volume of information available to organizations today and the various formats in which it resides, it is critical to have systems that can quickly present the most meaningful data at the point in time at which it is needed.

Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, when implemented effectively, can aid organizations in being more agile.  We have found a considerable amount of success leveraging PowerBI to enhance agility at many companies.  First, it is a cloud-based solution that can be accessed through multiple types of devices.  That means workers can have access to their data anytime, anywhere needed to do their jobs.  Second, it integrates with pretty much any data type imaginable both in the cloud and on-premises.  This allows a great deal of flexibility to get a BI solution up and running quickly. Finally, PowerBI has dashboards that are both easy to create and use, making adoption by end-users a positive and painless experience.

As the speed of change in the world of business continues to increase, the most effective organizations are getting ahead of it by being strategic and leveraging technology to make their organizations and workers more agile.  Email me at Rachael.narel@peters.com to connect and learn more!
